Dissemination workshop in Brussels
Laur Kanger

On June 16 the UaESMC team arranged a workshop to the members of the European Parliament. The goals were to present the new technological capabilities related to privacy-preserving data analysis (UaESMC and PRIST projects) but also to have an indirect impact on the new laws of data protection currently being developed on the EU level.

The event was attended by 15 people including the councillors of key people related to drafting and reporting on new data protection laws. An introductory talk by Peeter Laud was followed by two presentations:

  1. How to make the sharing and analysis of data in the EU more secure? Dan Bogdanov

  2. When the users don't know what to want: exploring privacy preserving technology adoption in highly uncertain conditions. Pille Pruulmann-Vengerfeldt

The meeting, lasting about 1,5 hours, concluded with a lively discussion round.
